Well its a new year, but am thinking what is actually new about new year, still in the same situation, wanting to escape where i live to somewhere more exciting and better for doing music, because Bath is certainly not the place for that!
I do long to be back in Liverpool, still not amazing for what i do, but at least i know the people around that area, out here i feel isolated and alienated from people i know and things that are going on.
Its a huge shame as i had lots of optimism for when i moved out and i wrote some great music at the time as well, which i am proud of, but i have no way of showing this off, the music scene or non music scene in Bath is awful, and Bristol, is way to big and i don't know where to start there either, the problem with the south is there not so friendly, cliche but true!
So right now i am in a state of exile, i am working on some music at the moment, a little different from what i have done before which is fun, am getting away of having orchestral instruments as the main theme and doing more experimental electronica, i am also involved in a small project as well, not giving details just yet, but its fun so am excited about that!
Also am little pissed off actualy extremely pissed off with the results of my last work, where no one gave a flying shit about what i done, i have always encouraged and been surpportive to people yet now i am thrown to the side of the road because it feels like no one cares, is this me moaning WELL I BIG FAT YES IT IS this shit hurts, i know i must take the rough with the smooth and i get that, but come on! give me something!
And with the current music scene, well fuck me sideways, this year has been disappointing and more, i expected alot out of music but am left empty and hollow!
I have not heard one good amazing record this year, most of the time they are ok, but not life changing, everyone and i mean everyone are playing it safe, i do hope that this year maybe someone like bjork will change things or radiohead will deliver something fantastic!
As for underground music, come on can we have some variation rather than DUMBstep and boring and bass! fuck me explore new music!
Flying lotus said in a tweet why do people send him music that sounds exactly like what he makes thats is just weird and wrong, experiment people music is there to be explored, why haven't we evolved yet?
Not leaving on a sour note, i must say i have heard some good music, one being the throw away's demo's of martin grech, an amazing talant and yet no one cares!
