The Forgotten

Well how are you viewers of the Calm Project Blog? Silence is your weapon and i feel its death!

Well for the people interested in knowing i am working on music, there should hopefully be 3 new songs coming soon, will these create an album worth of material, who knows at the moment the idea of people listening i find amusing but the people who do, my god i love you so much for listening and giving my music a chance!

I have been listening to some new music and i think thats influencing my new music, especially messing with different time signatures there will be one song i have done that, am still exploring music and everyday is a new surprise for me, i love music so much!

The other things in my life are working on music for a dance that involves dance music and gypsy music with hip hop beats, and rearranging some original tracks for dance.... The other exciting thing is a collaboration i Did with Little Weird Orchestras on a song called Routine, its different its original and i had great fun singing on this track, and might i say loved the mix on this track a lot, please check it out :) http://soundcloud.com/littleweirdorchestra/routine

Next on my agenda is doing all this Live, i have ideas that i would like to pursue and am excited about what the future holds for myself and my music, i think the idea of being a bit selfish is something i should look into as i really want to share my music with people and being strong and delivering something new is always bold and i applaud the musicians over the years who have brought about change, i wish one day people would see me in that light! Who knows they probably won't even shine the light in my direction :( No am not feeling sorry for myself its just a fact! We talk about change yet were all in the same place, now is it me or is that fucked up?

A title within a title

Well its that time again, the barking mad rants of a musician who just wants to create and feel like am making a difference...

My mind is consuming so much in the past 2 weeks from moving out of Bath to the North and looking for a flat and work, i envy people who can make a living from music, as i don't seem to make a living from anything and am desperate to change that drastically!

Another problem is how i want to see my music performed and what i want next in the next installment of my saga/life, the music i am doing now feels so free, full of ideas and melody and beats that just get me in the mood to scream 'fuck me that's a beat' the challenge now is to translate all this live, i have mentioned before visuals would be cool and i have found ideas on what i want to do, but the music side is frightening me, as i want musicians involved but will they get what's inside my mind? the answer is who the fuck knows? that moment has to realise itself when am in a room with new people. Am feeling i want a dramatic maybe even Gothic to lean too, the music right now which i have labelled 'Ghost Tape' is switching to a more darker side, which i love and embrace as it works with my vocal and vision...

Oh and a small rant about stage school musicians, please fucking music business people look online and discover someone new who is talented and not posh or from a public school, music that is played by guitars doesn't always mean its good, music is symphonic it can be more than 6 strings of nothing!

OK rant over feelings spared maybe one day i will say something far more worse :P

Collaboration and all things to do with Tape

Hello this is not april fools but many would call me the fool for writing this blog as it probably get as much attention as my music !

Anyway this is a update about whats happening and where i am in the world of music and The Calm Project, the new songs are still coming i should have 2 new tracks for you all to hear soon as possible, one will be available next week on monday via soundcloud, if your interested i put most of my music on soundcloud as its an easy platform to share and upload!

The new direction is still the ghost tape sessions, the music is coming and am already upto 6 new tracks and still have a head of endless ideas and possibilities!!!!!

The other thing i wanted to talk about are the collaborations am working on, i have worked with autumna and little weird orchestras with me adding vocals to their tracks, you can find them here follow on soundcloud, i will post links at a later date :)

Also some of my new tracks are to be worked with dance in a new collaboration so will keep you informed with what happens as its till early stages....

As for myself alot is happening right now such as moving and such forth...

First day of spring

Hello hello hi salut bonjour, welcome back to The Calm Project blog, if you been following me you would know my ranting by now...

I just wanted to send out a quick blog about whats happening and where i am at with the music.

Ok been working on new music you can hear the new track on soundcloud right now called :Save Me- this new song is one of my favourites and cannot wait to perform this song live, i am working on more tracks but right now am trying to think about live setup and how i want to perform these songs, the new direction has given me many ideas and thoughts on how i want to be seen, this is more of a visual band and i would so love to have amazing graphics and visuals happening at my gig, this is what i want to work on more right now and then build up sounds and ideas as the gig/show progresses!

The Writing is on the Wall

Ok where to start, how about 6 months ago, moving down to a new place and expecting everything to change and dreams come true, well some did and some didn't...

Made an album of orchestrated beauty and melody overload, the results were Colour in winds by The calm Project, I added extra tracks to Subject B and now working on something new!

The new sounds is all about mood and texture, running title is Ghost Tape and the music is taking sounds and instruments i haven't used much before and working them into a structure where music can be free and open, also creating beats that are my own and alittle odd, rather than the overly coppied beats and percussion you always hear!!!!!

The plan is that i will be in a new city and place soon, and to bring the sound of Ghost tape to a live experience, not sure how or what it will sound or be like, but its an exciting prospect and can't wait to get my hands dirty and begin work on the new music and sound!

I am working on tracks and will be adding to my soundcloud account as and when they would be ready, this in tern will hopefully produce an album/EP of music which will be my new venture....
